Why can I not see Timesheets for other users?

This article covers being unable to view another user's timesheets, within 'User Delegations' and 'User roles'. There are two things to check: whether 'User Delegation' has been set up correctly for the user needing access, and whether the required user role for 'Timesheet Management' is assigned.

Checking User Delegation access for timesheets

The most common reason you can't see another user's timesheets is that 'User Delegation' hasn't been set up for you to view that person's timesheets.

1. Navigate to 'User Delegations'
2. Open the record for the user who needs to view another user's timesheets 
3. Select 'Edit'
4. On the 'Timesheets' tab, select 'Select' to open the resource picker
5. In the 'Select resources' window, choose the resource (user) whose timesheets should become visible
6. Select 'Apply'
7. Select 'Save'.

The person being granted access to view timesheets doesn't need to be set up as a resource themselves. They do, however, need the correct user role for 'Timesheet Management', covered in the next section, or they won't appear as an option in the 'User Delegations' list at all.

Checking the required user role for Timesheet Management

Even with delegation set up correctly, a user still needs the right role assigned to view, edit or approve timesheets. These roles are assigned either directly on the user's account or through a user group.

1. Navigate to the user's account or user group
2. Open the user roles picker
3. Search for 'timesheet' to find the relevant roles
4. Confirm the correct role is assigned for the level of access needed – for example, 'Delegation: Timesheet' for full delegation access, or 'Delegation: Timesheet read only' for view-only access
5. Select 'Save'.

Without the correct role, the user may still be unable to view, edit or approve timesheets, even when delegation has been set up.
