This article covers an Excel add-in total that doesn't include brought-forward (b/f) or special/adjustment period figures in iplicit. Some functions can include these figures, but only when the required IncludeSpecialPeriods parameter is set correctly.

Checking the IncludeSpecialPeriods parameter in your function

Some Excel add-in functions can include b/f and special period figures in their total – for example, IP.GLGROUPYTPBASEAMOUNT. This function takes IncludeSpecialPeriods as a required parameter, alongside legal_entity, period and account_group.

If IncludeSpecialPeriods is set to 0 (false), b/f and special period values are excluded from the total. Set to 1 (true), they're included.

Turning on IncludeSpecialPeriods in your Excel function

  1. Open the function you're using in your Excel sheet
  2. Set IncludeSpecialPeriods = 1
  3. Confirm the rest of the function syntax is complete, including legal_entity, period and account_group
  4. Recalculate the sheet to confirm the total now includes the b/f and special period values.
