Once a Supplier has been deleted from the Supplier menu, if you try to create the account again using their original account code, you will encounter a message to say it is already in use, as shown in the example below, which stops the Supplier being created again:

When a Supplier is deleted, it only removes the Supplier tick option from the Contact account record, it does not delete the account. This can be found by navigating to Contact accounts and using the filter to search for the Supplier code. 

 

You will see from the example below that the Contact account shows the Supplier details, however the Supplier column is now unticked.

 

 

If you wish to create the Supplier again with the same code as previously used, the Contact account will need to be deleted. 

You can do this by following these steps:

 

  1. Click the account to be deleted
  2. Click on the 3 dots
  3.  Select Delete
  4. Select Yes to the pop up confirmation message

 

 

You can then recreate the Supplier using the original account code:

 


Please be aware of any existing documents against the contact and it is recommended to lock the existing contact and create a new one with a new reference so there are no broken links within the ledger records.
