We’re excited to announce the release of iplicit’s new Budgeting module, designed to give you proactive control over spend and a clearer view of your organisation’s finances.

Built from the ground up based on customer feedback, this module is available now on request.

Why a new module?

We listened to your feedback — and we know that managing budgets across entities and controlling spend at the point of commitment are critical needs.
That’s why we’ve created a new Budgeting module, not just an update to the old Budgets module. This is a step-change in how you plan and monitor spend.

Important: The legacy Budgets module is still available and fully supported. You can continue using it alongside the new Budgeting module if needed. Both can run in parallel, so you don’t have to switch immediately.

What’s new?

The new Budgeting module makes budgeting easier and more effective across your organisation:

  • Proactive spend control: When a PO is raised, iplicit validates it against the available budget and alerts you before the spend is confirmed. Catch potential overspend when it matters, not at month-end.
  • Multi-entity budgeting: Manage budgets across multiple legal entities with a unified group view alongside entity-level detail. No more spreadsheet consolidation.
  • Easier setup and maintenance: A guided wizard walks you through creating budgets step by step. Set up or revise with a clear audit trail — works for finance teams and budget holders alike.
  • Convenient reporting: Access the views you need in a few clicks — variances, percentages, actuals. New Excel functions let you pull live budget data directly into your spreadsheets.

A note on multi-attribute budgeting

If your organisation requires budgeting by multiple attributes, this capability is planned but not yet available. We recommend staying on the current Budgets module for now — and we’ll notify you when multi-attribute support is ready.

What does this mean for you?

  • If you need proactive spend control and multi-entity visibility, the new Budgeting module is the best choice.
  • If you require multi-attribute budgeting, continue using the legacy Budgets module until the new capability is released.
