A Bank Feed is an Open Banking connection between your bank and iplicit. Once connected and linked, iplicit imports your bank transactions automatically and uses them to build your bank statement – no manual download or upload needed. Bank Feeds sit within Bank > Bank Feeds in the side menu, or search 'BF' to jump straight there.
Getting Bank Feeds activated
Bank Feeds are not switched on by default. The feature must be activated for your specific iplicit environment before you can connect a feed. Email customersuccess@iplicit.com and the Customer Success team will turn Bank Feeds on for you.
If Bank Feeds have not been activated, you'll see a message to that effect when you open the Bank Feeds screen. If you're going through Go‑Live, connecting your own Bank Feeds is normally one of the steps you'll be asked to complete once activation is confirmed.
Connecting a new Bank Feed
Once Bank Feeds are active, connecting one to your bank is a short guided process – you select your bank, confirm consent for iplicit to receive your statement data, then log in to your bank securely to authorise the connection. The steps and screens differ slightly depending on whether your bank uses the Yapily or Plaid provider, so rather than duplicate that walkthrough here, follow the full step‑by‑step guide with screenshots on the Bank Feeds page of the iplicit user guide.
One thing worth knowing before you start: if your bank shows more than one account option during connection, make sure you select the Business Account, not a personal one.
Linking a connected feed to your iplicit Bank Account
Connecting the feed is not the final step. You then need to link (sometimes called mapping) the connected feed to the correct Bank Account record in iplicit, so imported transactions land against the right ledger account. This also sets how often the bank statement populates from the feed – this should match your bank reconciliation frequency. Full field‑by‑field guidance for the link screen is on the same Bank Feeds user guide page, under 'How to link to iplicit Bank Account'.
Keeping your Bank Feed consent active
Open Banking requires you to reconfirm your consent periodically – a minimum of ninety days, though the exact period depends on your bank. Whoever is listed as a responsible user on the feed gets an email reminder before consent expires. For how those alerts and dates work, see the separate article on Bank Feed consent alerts.
If your bank isn't listed
Not every bank supports Bank Feeds, and account‑level availability varies even where a bank is listed. See the separate article on available banks for Bank Feeds for the current provider list and what to do if your bank or account type isn't supported.
