Custom posting attributes allow you to capture additional information on posting lines, either as free text or from a predefined list of values.
1. Create the Custom Attribute
- Navigate to Attributes.
- Select New and choose Custom Attribute.


- If you leave No Values ticked, the attribute will allow free‑text entry on the posting line.
- If you untick No Values, you can link the attribute to a catalog, allowing users to choose from a drop‑down list.
To do this, create a new catalog in the Catalog screen and add your required values.

2. Add the Attribute to a Chart of Account Rule
Once your custom posting attribute is created:
- Go to Chart of Account Rules.
- Click New.
- Select the attribute you created and add it to the rule.
3. Attribute Visibility
Any accounts using that rule will now display the custom posting attribute when posting transactions.
