This article covers how to delete a budget forecast or a budget in iplicit's (legacy) Budget module. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you want to preserve the record but prevent further edits, lock the forecast instead - see How to lock a budget forecast in iplicit.

Before you delete

Deletion in iplicit's Budget module is a permanent action. There is no way to recover a deleted forecast or budget. If there is any chance you will need the record for reference - for example, for audit purposes or year-end review - lock it instead of deleting it.

Deleting a budget forecast

You can delete an individual budget forecast at any stage, regardless of its status (Open, Approved or Closed).

  1. Navigate to Budget > Forecasts and open the forecast you want to delete
  2. Select the delete icon in the top toolbar (the small grid icon with an arrow, highlighted in the screenshot below)
  3. Confirm the deletion when prompted

The forecast is permanently removed from iplicit. This action cannot be undone.

Deleting a budget

Deleting a budget in iplicit's Budget module permanently removes the budget and all forecasts linked to it.

To delete a budget:

  1. Navigate to Budget > Budgets and open the budget you want to delete
  2. Select the delete icon in the top toolbar
  3. Confirm the deletion when prompted

The budget and every forecast associated with it are permanently removed. This cannot be undone.

Warning: Deleting a budget removes all linked forecasts at the same time. If you only want to remove one forecast, delete the individual forecast rather than the budget.
