Every document in iplicit - including purchase invoices, sales invoices, journals and credit notes - displays four icons in the top-right corner of the document toolbar. These icons give you quick access to attachments, notes, analytics enquiries and linked documents for that specific document.
The four document toolbar icons
The icons appear in the top-right corner of any open document in iplicit. Each one opens a panel or window relating to the document you are currently viewing.

Attachments (paperclip icon)
The attachments icon opens the attachments panel for the document. You can upload and view files associated with that document directly from here. For full guidance on adding attachments, see Adding attachments to documents in iplicit.

Notes (speech bubble icon)
The notes icon allows you to add or view internal notes on a document. Notes are useful for recording context, queries or updates against a specific transaction - for example, flagging a purchase invoice that is awaiting approval or adding a reminder for your team.
Notes are visible to other users within your organisation who have access to that document.

Analytics (filter icon)
The analytics icon opens a pop-up window showing a list of saved enquiries associated with that document type. Selecting an enquiry and clicking 'Open' runs it in the context of the document you are viewing - for example, opening a purchase invoice history enquiry directly from a purchase invoice.
The enquiries available in the Analytics panel are configured for your organisation and will vary depending on your setup.

Links (linked documents icon)
The links icon opens a panel showing all documents linked to the one you are currently viewing. Linked documents vary depending on the transaction type and can include:
- Prepayment invoices linked to a purchase invoice
- Intercompany documents created from or related to the current document
- Deferred income or expenditure journals associated with the transaction
- Other system-generated documents related to the current record
Each linked document in the panel is clickable - selecting one navigates you directly to that document.
