This article covers how iplicit backs up customer data. It applies to your Primary Ledger Data - financial transactions, file attachments and database backups.
Content
iplicit is built exclusively on Microsoft Azure. Each customer's data is held in a dedicated, logically separate Azure SQL Database. There is no shared database between accounts, so one customer's data cannot be accessed through another's.
Backup retention
iplicit runs a multi-tiered, geo-replicated backup strategy for all production environments:
- Point-in-time backups allow recovery to any moment within the past 14 days
- Weekly backups are kept for 12 weeks
- Monthly backups are kept for 24 months
- Annual backups are kept for seven years, extendable to ten years for long-term compliance needs
Security
All customer data is encrypted at rest using AES-256, with encryption keys managed through Azure Key Vault. Data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.3.
