This article covers the "No available document types" message that appears when clicking 'New' on the Prepayments screen in the Purchase Ledger, or the Deferred Income screen in the Sales Ledger. This message appears in both modules and has the same cause: prepayment and deferred income documents cannot be created manually from these screens. They are generated automatically from a posted purchase invoice (prepayments) or sales invoice (deferred income) when the automation runs.

Why this message appears
The Prepayments and Deferred Income screens in iplicit display the journals that have been automatically generated by the automation. They are viewing screens, not creation screens. The 'New' button exists on these screens but manual creation of prepayment or deferred income documents is not possible - the document types are reserved for the automation only.
This message will appear regardless of whether the document type is unlocked. Unlocking the document type is required for the automation to generate documents, not for manual creation.
If journals are not being generated after posting
If you have posted an invoice with a distribution profile selected but no journals have been created, check the following:
- The prepayment or deferred income document type is unlocked in Document Types and has a document series assigned
- The automation is configured in Automations with the correct 'From' and 'To' document types
- A scheduler is running to pick up future-dated journals - journals for periods after the invoice post date are only created when the scheduler runs
