This article covers how delivery locations work on documents in iplicit. It explains how to make the delivery address optional rather than required, and how to set or amend the default delivery address that pre-populates on new documents.
Making the delivery address optional on a document
In iplicit, the delivery address appears as a required field on a document when the relevant document type has been configured to enforce it. To make the field optional, update the document type settings.
- Navigate to Document Types
- Search for and open the relevant document type - for example, 'Purchase Order (Quantity)'
- Select the 'General' tab
- Select 'Edit'
- Uncheck the 'Delivery address required' checkbox
- Select 'Save'
The delivery address field on documents created using this document type is now optional.
Setting or amending the default delivery address on a document
In iplicit, the default delivery address that pre-populates on a document is controlled through Locations. A location can be set as the default so that it appears automatically when a new document is created for that customer/supplier.
- Navigate to Locations
- Create a location you want to set as the default delivery address
- Go to the customer or supplier account
- Add the new location as the default.
New documents will now pre-populate with this location as the delivery address. To amend the delivery address on an individual document, select the 'Delivery address' field on the document and choose a different location from the list.
